Stain-free Laundry & Peace of Mind

My tips for stain removal so your clothes last longer!

Tip #1: Blue Dawn dish soap is the BEST for most stains. And yes, it has to be blue. The original, awesome, blue, magical soap. If you can catch it when it happens, you get faster results, in my opinion. While the stain is wet, put soap directly on the stain. Get a small toothbrush or nail brush and slowly scrub in the soap with a small amount of cold water in a circular motion or in the direction of the threads on the item. Let sit for a few minutes, then rinse or throw in the washing machine.

Tip #2: Blue Dawn dish soap, peroxide, and baking soda will get almost all set-in baby food stains out.

Tip #3: For the worst stains ever, blue dawn plus oxi-clean pre-treater spray.

Tip #4: Fels Naphtha is great for white baseball pants. Some say it works like a dream. It comes in a bar and you can buy Exfoliating Mesh Soap Saver pouches on Amazon to put them in. You put the bar in the bag then just wet and scrub.

Tip #5: For blood, use hydrogen peroxide. This came from an ER nurse so you know it works.

Tip #6. For pen ink, use hairspray. This can also work for marker or paint.

Tip #7: Persil 2-in-1. “I don’t even need stain remover anymore. It’s seriously a miracle in a bottle.” JoAnna Kirk

Tip #8: Dreft for baby clothes is also an option. Safe for babies and tough on stains.

Tip #9: Powder Oxi-clean and spray the stain with Shout. Let the stain sit in a bucket of water and cleaner all day and then wash normally after that.

Tip #10: For berry stains, lay the item over a big bowl and pour boiling water over it. The stain will come out by itself. That’s cool.

“I used Fels Namptha and a spray bottle. Sprayed the stains with water and scrubbed the bar over the fabric to generate suds. Washed immediately on delicate. Air dried.” Heather Monfre

“Durability. Buy them and wear them! My little girl is good at challenging my stain removal game.” Amber Brewer

“All I did was use blue dawn–poured it right on the stains then washed on delicate like normal and laid flat to dry.” Jenny Seckel

“Oxyclean did the trick.” Melissa Mayer

“I soaked it in cold water and used the blue dawn dish soap!” Kendall LaChance

“Spray-n-wash for the win! She fell and slipped in the mud and fell right on her bottom.” Allison Griffin

“She spilled red nail polish on the front of her new MJ dress we just got. Red about soaking in baking soda and ginger ale. I soaked that baby for 24 hours and scrubbed on the huge spots every hour I was awake and the nail polish pretty much disappeared. I paid too much for this beauty to let it get the best of me. So there you go, baking soda and ginger ale. This proves how sturdy the fabric is on this clothing too.” Kimberly Efird-Thorpe

“This was our disaster this morning. The Fels Naphtha bar to the rescue. I believe it was popsicle.” Heather Monfre
